My mother-in-law, or Baba, as my daughters have always called her, is an amazing baker. Not professional, but she may as well be!
Baba's wonderful baked treats have always been an anticipated part of our family gatherings and, more recently, part of our team lunches at La Gelateria. Her fudge brownies, made with love, a couple top-secret ingredients and perfectly textured edges, are a perennial favorite and pair perfectly with La Gelateria's Tahitian Vanilla Bean gelato.
A typical brownie ala mode consists of a scoop of ice cream served atop a brownie. So, for fun, we essentially took two of Baba's brownies with a big scoop of gelato on each, flipped 'em upside down and stacked and packed it all in a pint. Voilà!... Baba's Brownie Ala Mode gelato flavor!
Whether one considers $7.50 per pint to be a premium or bargain price will likely depend on before or after trying Baba's Brownie Ala Mode! This will not be a regularly produced flavor as supply will be based on Baba's energy level, travel schedule and social baking commitments.
