Common Mango: often the fruit you see on big trees typically in older neighborhoods and along roads around town.  Identified by some reddish coloration and some degree of fibrous texture.

Fairchild Mango: believed to have originated in Central American and made its way to the US via Hawaii in the 1920s. Compared to the common mango the fruit is smaller in size, no reddish color, and fiber-free flesh. Sorbetto tasting note: rich, sweet mango; soft texture.

Mapulehu Mango:  Originating from Mapulehu, Moloka`i, it's suspected this varietal is a Pirie-Hayden hybrid.  Quoting from an article in HanaHou! magazine, "these mangoes aren’t stringy, they’re a deep orange, not that yellowish hue like most mangoes. They’re juicy to the max, the flesh almost melting in your mouth. And when refrigerated, they’re the most refreshing, healthiest snack you could ever imagine".
